2017 Iowa Podiatric Medical Society Heartland Foot and Ankle Conference

This year’s conference will be held October 4-7, 2017 at the Des Moines Downtown Marriott. Attendees will have the option of attending a variety of sessions and workshops tailored to doctors, nurses, and assistants. The Site of the 2017 Heartland Foot and Ankle Conference is the Des Moines Downtown Marriott. Rooms are being held for October 4-7, 2017. The cutoff date for the group rate was September 13, 2017 and there are no longer rooms available in the IPMS room block. Call 515.245.5500 to make reservations.
CME Credits will be awarded for Iowa DPMs as follows throughout the conference:
- Wednesday (2:00 - 8:20pm) will provide 5.25 CME credits.
- Thursday (8:00am - 6:30pm) will provide 7.75 CME credits.
- Attendance at the workshop Thursday morning (7:00-8:00am) will provide 1.0 CME credit.
- Friday (8:00am - 6:00pm will provide 7.5 credit CME credits.
- Attendance at the workshop Friday morning (7:00 - 8:00am) will provide 1.0 CME credit.
- Saturday (8:00am - 12:00pm) will provide 4.0 CME credit.
- The maximum CME credits awarded for attendance at this conference is 26.5
CME credits for Nebraska and Minnesota have both been APPROVED. Doctors from other states may submit a copy of the program and certificate of completion to the appropriate state agency for individual approval of CME credits. The target audience for this activity includes nurses and others who work with patients experiencing foot and ankle ailments and diseases, as well as diabetic and wound care patients. Des Moines University is Iowa Board of Nursing approved provider #112. This live activity has been reviewed and approved for a maximum of 11.5 continuing education contact hour(s). 5.0 CE contact hours on October 5, and 6.5 CE contact hours on October 6. Learners must attend the entire day and no partial credit awarded.

The Iowa Podiatric Medical Society (IPMS), in conjunction with the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (CPMS), is hosting the Heartland Poster Competition at the Heartland Foot & Ankle Conference, October 4-7, 2017!
The Heartland Poster Competition hopes to increase the level of awareness regarding podiatric research on both a regional and national scale. Researchers will have the opportunity to submit research posters to the conference to be displayed throughout the week. There will be two categories for judging: General Submissions and Student Submissions.
The winner of the Student Submission category of the Heartland Poster Competition will receive up to $500 from IPMS to help defray the costs of attending the 2018 APMA National Meeting. This requires submission and acceptance of the winning poster for presentation at the APMA National Meeting.
